Greenberg Traurig’s Bay Area Offices Host ‘Celebrating Black Innovation’ Event

SAN FRANCISCO – Feb. 24, 2020 – In celebration of black entrepreneurship during Black History Month, the Bay Area offices of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, together  with Uber, the California Association of Black Lawyers, and the National Bar Association Region 9 hosted “Celebrating Black Innovation,” an event that explored the role of black business leaders in technology and innovation ecosystems across the globe.

A diverse panel from a variety of fields focused their discussions on how diverse talent within larger companies may leverage their skills and background to deepen their involvement as executives, investors, and mentors. The event was held on Feb. 7, in San Francisco. 

Participants included Terry Wiley (Assistant District Attorney at Alameda County District Attorney), Douglas Tutt (COO of Virgil Holdings, Inc.), Brian Brackeen (General Partner at Lightship Capital), Aileen Casanave (Vice President, Head of Legal at MemSQL), and Greenberg Traurig shareholders Jaret L. Davis and Ian C. Ballon
