Kemal Hawa Presents at DICE Southeast 2020

McLEAN, VA – March 4, 2020 –Kemal Hawa, a shareholder at global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will participate in the Data Center Investment Conference & Expo (DICE) Southeast, March 5 in Atlanta, GA. The conference attracts data center operators, content providers, enterprise users of information technology, private equity firms, and lenders in the Cloud computing and data center space.

Hawa will moderate the panel, "The Next Wave: The Convergence of Data Centers and Digital Infrastructure (The American Tower Story).” This panel will feature John Ghirardelli, Director of U.S. Innovation at American Tower, Timothy Kiser, Founder of Colo ATL, and Hunter Newby, Owner of Newby Ventures. The panelists were the principal people involved in the historic sale of Colo ATL to American Tower last year, in what is considered the first major tower company’s acquisition of a data center operator. Greenberg Traurig served as outside counsel in connection with the transaction.

Hawa, a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate Practice, focuses his practice on corporate and securities law, with an emphasis on the telecommunications, media, and technology industries, domestically and internationally. He regularly advises public and private companies, private equity firms, investment banks, and creditors’ committees on a variety of matters, including mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies and restructurings, investments, financing arrangements, licensing agreements, and commercial transactions. Hawa assists clients with the negotiation of transactions in the cloud computing space, including the negotiation of data center and co-location leases, globally. He also has broad experience in the negotiation of network infrastructure transactions, including submarine cable systems (builds, financings, and capacity procurement), as well as terrestrial fiber optic network transactions.
