Greenberg Traurig’s Alan C. Sheppard, Jr. Reappointed to NAIOP Central Florida Chapter Board of Directors

ORLANDO – Jan. 28, 2021 – Alan C. Sheppard, Jr., a shareholder in the Orlando office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A., has been reappointed to the board of directors of the Central Florida Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

According to the organization’s website, NAIOP is the leading organization for developers, owners, and investors in office, industrial, and mixed-use real estate. With more than 18,000 members in North America, NAIOP advances responsible commercial real estate development and advocates for effective public policy.

Sheppard is also a past president of the NAIOP of Florida and a lifetime member of the NAIOP Research Foundation Board of Governors, which supports research into national and international trends and changing social dynamics that drive industrial, office, and mixed-use development. Through his work with NAIOP, he actively lobbies on behalf of the commercial development community locally and in both Washington, D.C. and Tallahassee.

At Greenberg Traurig, Sheppard is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice and has wide-ranging experience in commercial real estate development, leasing, and finance with a particular emphasis on the development of office and industrial buildings, regional shopping centers, and multi-family developments. He also has significant experience in entitlements and zoning law. With an LL.M. in Taxation, Sheppard provides clients with guidance regarding the tax implications of real estate investments, as well as mortgage and construction financing, lease financing, mezzanine lending, asset-based finance, and working capital loan transactions.

Active within the Central Florida community, Sheppard is a member of the board of directors of BusinessForce, and is the past chair of the board of directors of the Children's Home Society of Florida, Central Florida Division.
