Greenberg Traurig’s Johnine Barnes and Laura Reiff to Present at the Vegas Chamber D.C. Fly-in Event

LAS VEGAS, WASHINGTON and NORTHERN VIRGINIA – Sept. XX, 2021 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Alisa Nave-Worth, Shareholder of the Nevada Government Law & Policy Group, will moderate the panel featuring Johnine P. Barnes, Shareholder and Chair of the Washington, D.C. Labor & Employment Practice Group, and Laura Foote Reiff, co-chair, Immigration & Compliance and co-managing shareholder in the firm’s Northern Virginia office  at the Vegas Chamber D.C. Fly-in eventon a panel titled “Federal Developments for Employers in Employment and Business Immigration Matters” on Sept. 21 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Chamber and Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) members may attend the Washington, D.C. Fly-in in person or virtually and will have the opportunity to interact with federal policymakers. The event will offer a variety of meetings with decision-makers and policy experts and receptions to build relationships and strengthen existing connections throughout the week of Sept. 20, according to its website.

Barnes has wide-ranging experience in labor and employment law. She is nationally recognized by the Legal 500 U.S. Guide for her counseling and compliance practice regarding employment laws, including but not limited to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other federal and state statutes governing employment issues. Barnes is also recognized by Lawdragon 500 as a Leading Lawyer in America and as a Leading U.S. Corporate Employment Lawyer. In addition to her counseling and compliance practice, Barnes is experienced in litigating and defending employment claims of harassment, retaliation, discrimination, wrongful discharge, and breach of contract, as well as business litigation matters involving non-compete agreements, and legislative matters.

Nave-Worth has more than a decade’s worth of experience with politics and government affairs. She has deep legal, political, and public policy experience in Nevada, which she uses to implement and advocate legislative strategies before state and local agencies for a wide range of corporate clients. Nave-Worth represents clients with legislative, regulatory, and administrative issues across all policy areas, with an emphasis in transportation, construction, entertainment, infrastructure and campaign finance compliance in Nevada. She has experience advocating for clients before the Nevada legislature and assisting clients with the rule-making process and advising on regulatory matters before state agencies, boards and commissions.

Reiff co-chairs the firm’s Immigration & Compliance group. She focuses her practice on business immigration laws and regulations affecting U.S. and foreign companies, as well as related employment compliance and legislative issues. Reiff advises corporations on a variety of compliance-related issues, particularly related to Form I-9 eligibility employment verification matters. She performs I-9, H-1B, and H-2B compliance inspections during routine internal reviews, while performing due diligence (in the context of a merger, acquisition, or sale) or while defending a company against a government investigation.
