Magan Ray Joins RIP Medical Debt Board of Directors

SILICON VALLEY – Sept. 17, 2021 – Magan Pritam Ray, shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Benefits & Compensation Practice, has been nominated and approved to join the board of directors of RIP Medical Debt.

RIP Medical Debt is a non-profit that helps medical patients achieve financial stability. Their mission is to act as a source of justice in an unjust healthcare finance system, provide unique solutions for patient-centered healthcare providers, and lead as a moral force for systematic change. The organization has relieved close to $5 billion in debt for over 2.8 million families. 

Ray, who is based in Greenberg Traurig’s Silicon Valley office, has wide-ranging experience in all facets of employee benefits and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters, including the design, implementation, and operation of retirement plans, health and welfare benefit plans, cafeteria plans, fringe benefit plans, and non-qualified deferred compensation programs. She focuses on counseling clients on the business impact, strategic response, plan design, and compliance with the evolving legal requirements and industry changes impacting health care. Ray regularly advises Fortune 100 companies on issues in mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, and joint ventures. She also has experience representing companies undergoing employee benefits and tax audits before the IRS and Department of Labor.
