2020 Updates on Employment Laws Impacting Illinois Employers

Greenberg Traurig's Labor & Employment Group hosted a client CLE program, “2020 Updates on Employment Laws Impacting Illinois Employers,” on March 5. Our panel of experienced employment attorneys discussed the recent changes to employment laws impacting Illinois employers – many of which just went into effect on January 1, or will go into effect later this year. The recent legislative and judicial developments discussed included, recent developments in how the Seventh Circuit views class and collective action waivers; amendments to the Illinois Human Rights Act and the Illinois Equal Pay Act; the Chicago Fair Workweek Ordinance; and he Illinois Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.
