Greenberg Traurig Attorney Richard J. Fidei Speaks on Market Conduct Inquiries for Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals

FORT LAUDERDALE and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Nov. 4, 2015Richard J. Fidei, a Shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices of international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A., was a featured speaker for the Nov. 4 webcast titled “Proof of Compliance: Plan, Prepare and Implement a Regulator Ready Program” sponsored by the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (AICP). The program provided valuable insights to help organizations understand, implement and evidence compliance inquiries. Speakers also discussed how to implement a successful compliance program, responding to regulator inquiries and developing business continuity plans.

Fidei is a frequent speaker on insurance regulatory matters and legislative initiatives for insurance regulatory industry groups.

The webcast, moderated by Melissa Berry, Principal Attorney Editor at Thomson Reuters, featured Fidei along with Stephen Harris, vice president and Corporate Chief Compliance Officer at The Hartford Financial Services Group, and Leslie Krier, Market Conduct Oversight Manager at the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

Fidei is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig's Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice Group and Government Law & Policy Group in Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee. Fidei focuses his practice on national insurance regulatory and compliance matters. He represents a wide variety of insurance entities including insurance companies, health plans, reinsurers, managing general agencies, brokers, third-party administrators, claims companies and other insurance-related entities in connection with regulatory, corporate, compliance and transactional issues. Fidei is experienced in the formation, licensure and capitalization of insurers, business expansion activities, financial and market conduct examinations, reinsurance and alternate risk transfer mechanisms, product filings, as well as many other operational and regulatory issues applicable to insurance entities.

Fidei received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Duquesne University School of Law.
