Greenberg Traurig LLP on Monday announced that it had nabbed the former managing partner from the Dallas office of DLA Piper along with another partner, who both practice securities and complex commercial law, as well as an associate, joining two others who made the switch last month.
Karl G. Dial, a managing partner at his previous firm, and Casey L. Moore, who represents clients in complex commercial suits and securities litigation, both joined as partners in Greenberg Truarig's litigation group. Associate Samuel G. Davison also came aboard.
Dial told Law360 that his new firm offered an attractive platform for his practice and that other ex-DLA Piper attorneys who had joined Greenberg “raved about how happy they are.
“I wanted to move to a thriving office in the Dallas market, and Greenberg certainly has that. And one with senior management with a solid commitment to Texas, Greenberg certainly has that,” Dial said. “And I was very much attracted to the energy level at this growing office.”
Dial is also a certified public accountant, and focuses his commercial litigation practice on securities litigation and representing accountants.
