Latin Builders Association Names Greenberg Traurig 2017 Law Firm of the Year

MIAMI, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2017) – The Latin Builders Association (LBA), the largest Hispanic construction association in the United States, recognized global law firm Greenberg Traurig. P.A. as its 2017 “Law Firm of the Year.”

The award, which has been given to the firm for the third time – and in 2016 and 2017 - was based on nominations made by fellow LBA members and voted on by 750 member companies. The annual award is presented to firms for their expertise in working with the business community and the construction industry in South Florida.

Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Iris V. Escarra, co-chair of the firm’s Miami Land Development and Zoning Practice, accepted the award on behalf of the firm at the LBA 2017 Annual Awards luncheon on Sept. 29 at the Hilton Downtown in Miami. Iris is a Board Member of the Latin Builders Association.

“We are very grateful to have both the honor and opportunity to serve the members of the Latin Builders Association,” Escarra said. “Since Greenberg Traurig’s founding 50 years ago, we have been a leader in helping to shape the growth of Miami-Dade County, and working closely with the association’s members has been an important part of that endeavor.”

Greenberg Traurig's Land Development Group represents landowners, joint venture partners, and entrepreneurs in developing the full-cycle of real estate projects, from financing to the issuance of building permits, and certificates of occupancy to development. Aspects of the firm’s representation encompass due diligence investigations; site plan approval and rezoning applications; special permits, variances, and designations and alterations of landmarked buildings; public and private financing; land use appraisals and entitlements and construction financing and permitting; and air rights and utilities transactions.
