FORT LAUDERDALE and TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Dec. 6, 2017 – Fred E. Karlinsky, Shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee offices of global law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A., moderated a panel titled “Effective Use of Public Relations in Legislative Advocacy” at the Florida Insurance Council Pre-Legislative Workshop, held in Amelia Island on Nov. 28-30, 2017. Karlinsky discussed the use of public relations to shape legislative issues and action with panelists Christina Johnson of On 3 Public Relations; Peter Schorsch of Florida Politics; and Lynne McChristian of Florida State University and Insurance Information Institute.
The panel also examined the increasing use of technology in legislative advocacy, and the transition from print to digital media, along with best practices for maximizing positive exposure through social media, blogs, websites, and other digital platforms.
Karlinsky is Co-Chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Insurance Regulatory and Transactions Practice and a member of the firm’s Government Law & Policy Group. He has 25 years of experience representing the interests of insurers, reinsurers and a wide variety of other insurance-related entities on their regulatory, transactional, corporate and governmental affairs matters.
