NEW YORK – June 13, 2017 – The attorneys and business staff of the New York City office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP participated in several events to benefit community organizations during the firm’s annual 2017 Community Service Week, June 1 to June 9.

“We are proud to celebrate our annual community service week by giving back to the communities in which we live and work,” said Nancy A. Mitchell, co-managing shareholder of the Greenberg Traurig’s New York City office and co-chair of the firm’s Restructuring & Bankruptcy Practice.
The week’s activities included:

The week’s activities included:
- "Operation Backpack - Volunteers of America,” a project where staff and attorneys filled backpacks for students to bring home. Backpacks included a “starter library” as well as school supplies. Children at the Early Learning Center in the South Bronx received the backpacks.
- Packing and re-packaging donated food items that the Food Bank For New York City delivered to shelters.
- Serving dinner at the Sage Center Midtown, the United States’ largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) older adults.
- Participating in activities with students at P.S. 84 Jose De Diego Magnet School for the Visual Arts.
Additionally, Greenberg Traurig thanked those who participated with a special reception.
