Barry J. Schindler to Speak at the 6th Annual Best Practices in Intellectual Property Conference

NEW YORK – March 7, 2018 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is a sponsor of the 6th Annual Best Practices in Intellectual Property (BPIP) Conference in Israel, March 12-13. The BPIP Conference will provide insight and updates on global IP issues, trends, and legislations that affect companies’ IP. Barry J. Schindler, shareholder and chair of the firm’s Global Patent Prosecution Practice, helped organize the two day conference and is also speaking on a number of panels.

Schindler will moderate a mock PTAB hearing on a converging MedTech technology, which will focus on patent and subject matter eligibility. He will also be a speaker on the panel “IP Protective Measures: Offensive vs. Defensive Strategies” and he will moderate the session “Friend or Foe: Licensing vs. Litigation: The Ups and Downs of Licensing your IP vs. Litigation.” On the second day of the conference Schindler will lead the master class “How USPTO Inter Partes Review (‘IPR’) trials try to kill medical device and life science patents and what you can do to be proactive during US prosecution to strike back.”

Schindler has more than 25 years of legal experience in virtually all aspects of pharmaceutical and chemical patent prosecution -- representing numerous major pharmaceutical and chemical companies regarding patents relating to small molecules and synthetic compounds. An active member of the firm's Israel Practice, he also focuses his practice on managing the patent portfolio for numerous innovative Israeli startups.
