Greenberg Traurig Elevates 10 Intellectual Property & Technology Attorneys

NEW YORK – March 12, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP has elevated Intellectual Property & Technology attorneys Julie P. Bookbinder, Amy L. Kramer, Stephen M. Ullmer, and Jonathan Wise to shareholder. Additionally, Jeffrey R. Colin, Corinne Miller LaGosh, Vishesh Narayen, Brian Prew, James L. Ryerson, and George David Zalepa have been elevated to of counsel.

Firmwide, Greenberg Traurig announced the elevation of 44 attorneys to shareholder. The new shareholders span 22 offices and 13 practice areas. The firm also announced the elevation to of counsel and counsel of 34 attorneys from 18 offices, practicing in 11 areas of law. In addition, the firm reported a sixth consecutive year of record revenue – more than USD $1.64 billion.

Intellectual Property & Technology Shareholder Elevations:

  • Bookbinder focuses on many areas of IP including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret litigation, patent prosecution, and non-litigation enforcement of trademarks and copyrights. Her experience spans a wide range of technologies and industry sectors, including financial services, aerospace, automotive, avionics, biotechnology, chemical, consumer products, electronics, medical devices, and online/website technology.
  • Kramer focuses her practice on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, Internet and domain name matters, with an emphasis on litigation.  She also advises clients on the protection of their intellectual property rights and establishing effective domestic and international brand management best practices.
  • Ullmer concentrates his practice on intellectual property matters, particularly patent litigation. He has tried cases involving software, internet technology, cellular technology, and pharmaceuticals, and has litigated cases in federal district courts across the country, at the Patent Trials and Appeals Board, and at the Federal Circuit.
  • Wise concentrates on patent litigation and ANDA Hatch-Waxman litigation. Prior to joining the firm in 2018, he was Associate General Counsel of IP Litigation at Teva Pharmaceuticals, where he coordinated and executed patent litigation strategy with outside counsel on dozens of U.S. pharmaceutical patent cases filed under the Hatch-Waxman Act; managed a team of lawyers overseeing Teva’s U.S. generic patent cases; and regularly advised senior management and communications teams.

Intellectual Property & Technology Of Counsel Elevations:

  • Colin concentrates his practice on complex patent litigation with a focus on pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer electronics. He has experience litigating patent infringement cases arising under the Hatch-Waxman Act and pertaining to drugs for treating various diseases, as well as electronics cases concerning wireless communications, cellular communications, and computer software.
  • LaGosh focuses her practice on intellectual property, with an emphasis on patent prosecution and litigation. She has represented clients in intellectual property disputes in district courts throughout the country and also maintains a patent prosecution practice, preparing and prosecuting utility and design patent applications.
  • Narayen focuses on complex intellectual property litigation, including data privacy and cybersecurity litigation, with an emphasis on high-stakes patent infringement litigation, trade secret matters, litigation involving cutting-edge technology. He has represented clients in complex patent infringement litigation involving a variety of technologies and industries in forums across the United States.
  • Prew has wide-ranging experience litigating intellectual property matters in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, computer software, biotechnology, and financial services with a concentration in patent challenges under the Hatch-Waxman Act. He also has experience in virtually all aspects of patent litigation, including the development of case strategies, fact and expert discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeals.
  • Ryerson focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and counseling. His experience has involved a wide array of industries and technologies, including electronics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, manufacturing, computer technology, toys, search engines, automotive technology, and eCommerce.
  • Zalepa has wide-ranging experience in the technology industries including web applications, networking and wireless technologies, cellular and satellite communications, telephony, image processing, and mobile devices and software. His experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in fields ranging from computer science to electrical engineering.
