Mark Tratos & Sabina Vayner to Speak at ABA Entertainment & Sports Industries Conference

ATLANTA – Sept. 28, 2020 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholder Mark G. Tratos and Of Counsel Sabina A. Vayner will present at the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries Virtual Conference, Oct. 1-2, 2020. The 42nd annual event, delivered virtually over a three-week period, will offer innovative and educational programs on a wide spectrum of entertainment and sports topics. 

Tratos will moderate the panel, “For Profit Performing Arts: Financial Survival in Entertainment & Sports” on Oct. 1, which will gather legal thought leaders and advocates to discuss and dissect the evolving role of civil rights and social justice in the entertainment industry. On Oct. 2, Tratos will moderate and Vayner will speak on the panel, “Breaking into the Industry,” which will examine entertainment law as a dynamic and evolving practice that is becoming more and more accessible to lawyers desiring to work in this area. Topics will include practice development, entertainment law resources, and the difference between in-house and private practice. Tratos and Vayner will also serve as mentors during speed mentoring sessions on Oct. 2.

Tratos serves on the ABA 2020 Annual Meeting Planning Committee and is a member of the Forum on Entertainment & Sports Industries’ Governing Committee. He is the founding shareholder of the firm's Las Vegas office and focuses his practice on a variety of entertainment, intellectual property, and litigation matters. He represents artists and performers, resort, hotel, and casino entities in federal court litigation involving trademark, copyrights, domain names, rights of publicity, and privacy law for known casino brands. He represents many of the largest resorts in the world on brand development and protection strategies, enforcement, and infringement litigation.

Vayner, a member of the firm’s Entertainment & Media Practice, represents brand owners and creators across a broad spectrum of industries in trademark, copyright, and advertising litigation, enforcement, and counseling matters. She has experience litigating federal trademark, copyright, false advertising, and trade dress infringement actions, and regularly represents clients in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Vayner additionally advises clients on a wide variety of issues to minimize the risk of disputes, including those involving copyright and trademark clearance and portfolio management, advertising review, social media, and right of publicity.
