Ellen Gustafson Named to City & State’s 2021 New York City 40 Under 40 Rising Stars List

NEW YORK – Oct. 15, 2021 Ellen M. Gustafson, assistant director of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Government Law & Policy Practice in the firm’s New York office, has been named to City & State’s2021 New York City 40 Under 40 Rising Stars” list.

The “Rising Star” list recognizes prominent and accomplished professionals under the age of 40 in government, business, and media whose achievements, leadership, and philanthropic efforts make a positive impact on New York, according to City & State.

In the feature, Gustafson states that “One of her favorite aspects of her job is working with nonprofit clients that provide needed social services to New Yorkers.”

Gustafson advises clients on a range of legislative, budget, and regulatory matters with a focus on matters in front of the New York City Council. She represents not-for-profit organizations through the New York City budget process and advises clients on virtually all aspects of the budget process including but not limited to submitting applications, advocating with key stakeholders for initiative funding, award registration, and purpose of funding issues. Gustafson also assists clients on the introduction and negotiation of legislation at the New York City Council as well as the rulemaking process and agency implementation.
