Greenberg Traurig Attorneys Represent Lead Underwriters in Connection with Initial Public Offering of Fibra SOMA - Grupo Sordo Madaleno’s Mexican REIT

MEXICO CITY – April 5, 2021 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP represented lead underwriters, Banco Santander Mexico, S.A.; BBVA Mexico; and Grupo Financiero Banorte, S.A.B. de C.V.; in connection with the initial public offering (IPO) of Fibra SOMA, the Mexican REIT established by Grupo Sordo Madaleno, a leading commercial property developer and operator in Mexico.

On Feb. 23, Fibra SOMA conducted its IPO with the placement of 135,370,078 trust certificates, raising approximately $350 million. It is the first REIT to be listed in Mexico’s Institutional Stock Exchange, BIVA; and the second largest REIT in Mexico.

Grupo Sordo Madaleno is a Mexico City-based real estate development firm founded in 1937. The firm offers an integrated, multifaceted mix of real estate services, including architectural design, leasing, financing, acquisition, operation, legal, marketing, and construction. Fibra SOMA has 10 properties in operation, two in its construction pipeline, and one more in development.
