Tracy Gerber and Sara Thompson Named ‘Women Worth Watching’

ATLANTA – Aug. 31, 2021 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholders Tracy L. Gerber and Sara K. Thompson were selected as 2021 “Women Worth Watching in Leadership” by Profiles in Diversity Journal. According to its website, Profiles in Diversity Journal is dedicated to promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion in the corporate, government, nonprofit, higher education, and military sectors. The annual “Women Worth Watching” awards recognize dynamic professional women who are using their talents and influence to change workplaces and the world.

Gerber is co-managing shareholder of the firm’s West Palm Beach office and co-chair of the firm’s Broker-Dealer Securities Litigation Practice. She is also a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice. Gerber regularly defends major Wall Street brokerage firms, investment banks, and other public companies in a wide variety of employment disputes in arbitration before administrative agencies, and in state and federal courts nationwide. She has substantial cross-over experience in the regulatory and sales practice arena, having handled numerous U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and state regulatory inquiries, investigations and enforcement proceedings, as well as customer arbitrations. Gerber is sought after for her ability to navigate unique employment litigation issues, including those involving internal investigations, senior level personnel and potential reputational risk. She is an experienced advocate in the hearing room, having tried over 50 arbitrations to final award.

Thompson is chair of the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device & Health Care Litigation Practice. She concentrates her practice on defense of products liability litigation, with an emphasis on representing manufacturers of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other consumer products in state and federal courts nationwide. She has experience managing individual, nationwide, and mass tort litigation matters involving a variety of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, as well as class action and mass litigation involving personal care products, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals in both coordinated and consolidated proceedings and Multi-District Litigations (MDLs). Thompson also regularly counsels manufacturers regarding review and drafting of appropriate warning language for product labeling, recalls and reporting, U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission recalls and compliance, and other pre-litigation matters.
