SAN FRANCISCO – Nov. 14, 2022 – Carolyn Fitzhugh McNiven, a member of Greenberg Traurig LLP’s White Collar and Trial Practice, will speak at the Annual Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (PACDL) White Collar Seminar Nov. 17-18 in Philadelphia on the topic of healthcare fraud enforcement.

The panel, titled “Emerging Healthcare Enforcement Trends and Implications,” will discuss key developments from the Supreme Court that impact healthcare fraud prosecutions, U.S. DoJ’s latest healthcare fraud enforcement actions and initiatives, and recent trials.  Topics addressed will include recent Supreme Court decisions, law enforcement actions in the areas of telehealth and sober homes, recent trends in anti-kickback investigations, and state attorneys general involvement in health care fraud enforcement in the Northeast Region.

Based in Greenberg Traurig’s San Francisco office, McNiven has a national healthcare government enforcement defense practice. She routinely represents companies in False Claims Act matters (both federal and state) and companies and individuals in criminal healthcare fraud investigations and trials. Her clients rely on her to handle their most challenging government enforcement problems because she is a strong client advocate, whether the matter is criminal, civil, or both. Her understanding of government decision-making is grounded in her 14-year experience as a federal criminal prosecutor, during which time McNiven handled several high-profile corruption prosecutions of federal and state government officials and spearheaded taskforces in the areas of healthcare fraud, financial fraud, and bankruptcy fraud. She served as a criminal healthcare fraud coordinator in the Chicago U.S. Attorney’s Office for over six years, established that district’s HEAT Taskforce, and handled numerous parallel investigations.
