Jason Barton is a registered patent agent in the firm’s Denver office. Jason focuses on patent preparation and prosecution (domestic and foreign), particularly for the chemical and metals industries. Due to his academic studies and research as a Chemical Engineering student, Jason brings to his practice a strong chemistry and chemical engineering technical background.
During his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado, Jason gained research experience in computational chemistry methods (e.g., density functional theory), catalysis, and organic synthesis. Furthermore, during his time as an undergraduate, Jason served as a Professional Research Experience Program Fellow at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (“NIST”). Following his undergraduate studies and prior to entering the field of patent law, Jason worked for an energy start-up as a research and development engineer, focusing on researching and developing novel gas purification technology.
