Greenberg Traurig NY Lunch & Learn: International Pre-Residency Tax Planning for High-Net Worth Individuals

Greenberg Traurig’s Business Immigration and Compliance Group proudly presents our 2023-24 NYC Lunch-and-Learn series: International Pre-Residency Tax Planning for High-Net Worth Individuals.

Greenberg Traurig Shareholders Kate Kalmykov, Barbara Kaplan, and Marc Selden will host an informative discussion on the importance of pre-residency tax planning for foreign nationals in the United States applying for permanent residency. The lunch-and-learn program will take place in-person at Greenberg Traurig’s NYC office in One Vanderbilt on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 12 – 2 p.m. ET.


The panel will address:
• Understanding U.S. tax requirements including:
    - Taxation on worldwide income
    - U.S. Federal income tax
    - U.S. federal estate and gift tax; generation skipping transfer tax considerations
    - State and local tax considerations
• Examining proactive measures foreign nationals can take prior to obtaining permanent residency in the United States to minimize their tax liability
• Post-residency tax strategies to implement if pre-residency tax planning was not performed
