Christian R. Burne is a member of the Litigation Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s Northern Virginia office. He focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, government investigations, and complex civil litigation. Drawing from his experience in federal court and as lead counsel at military courts-martial, he represents individuals and corporate clients, guiding and advising them through all stages of litigation.
Before joining the firm, Christian served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Previously, Christian served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army. As a military prosecutor at Fort Bragg, N.C., Christian tried multiple federal felony cases to verdict, worked closely with local, state, and federal law enforcement officers, agents, and investigators, and advised military commanders on criminal matters. He deployed to the Middle East as a National Security and Operational Law Attorney with Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, where he advised commanders, staff, and soldiers on the Law of Armed Conflict and other international legal obligations. He was also assigned as an Assistant Professor of Law at the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y., where he taught courses on military, criminal, constitutional, and international law, and was the appointed installation Military Magistrate.
Christian continues his military service as a major in the United States Army Reserves.
