Kathryn focuses her practice on commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, financing, developing and leasing of retail, office, industrial, hotel and mixed-use property on behalf of private equity funds, REITs, developers, health care providers and various other institutional clients. Her vast experience in drafting and negotiating commercial leases also includes built to suit leases, ground leases and flex space leases for national retailers, shopping center developers, restauranteurs and major office park owners. She routinely handles complex financings for the ground-up construction of commercial projects, involving both senior and mezzanine loans, and negotiates and prepares related development, management, and joint venture agreements.
Kathryn’s previous experience includes working for a capital investment and private equity firm managing international finance transactions, giving her a unique business perspective and helping her to accommodate the needs of institutional clients.

- Representation of Swire Properties in leasing over 400,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space at Brickell City Centre in Miami, Florida, including the negotiation of leases with H&M, Dior, Abercrombie & Fitch, Starbucks, Artizia and Urban Outfitters brands.
- Represented national REIT in pre-construction retail and restaurant leases for The Esplanade in Aventura, Florida.
- Representation of L3 Capital in securing the initial lease-up of +/- 30,000 square feet of newly constructed retail in Coconut Grove, Florida.

- A $240,000,000 syndicated construction loan for Selene Oceanfront Residences in Fort Lauderdale, FL, which is the city’s largest recorded construction loan, involving Wells Fargo Bank, City National Bank, Bank Hapoalim and MidFirst Bank;
- A $127,000,000 construction loan for a mixed-use residential and hotel development on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale;
- A $115,000,000 construction loan with CIBC Bank USA, Emigrant Bank and BMO Harris Bank for the luxury Ritz-Carlton branded condominium residences in Sarasota, Florida;
- Representation of Royal Palm Multifamily in connection with land acquisitions, construction loans, capital structuring, joint ventures and other debt placements, including:
- The acquisition of +/- 22 acres in Sanford, Florida, and the closing of a $68,000,000 construction loan with City National Bank of Florida and Abanca for a 420-unit Class-A multifamily development, including preferred equity and joint-venture capital;
- The purchase of +/- 16 acres in Orlando, Florida, and a $56,550,000 construction loan with Kennedy-Wilson as lead lender for the assemblage and development of a 320-unit Class-A apartment project, including joint-venture and preferred equity components;
- Representation of Related Group in handling real estate purchases, dispositions, leases and financing transactions, including, the negotiation of a $68,180,000 construction loan with First Horizon Bank for a 396-unit Class-A multifamily development in Ft. Myers, Florida, and the sale of Wynwood 26 in Miami, Florida for more than $75,000,000.
- Representation of The Easton Group in drafting, negotiating and closing purchases and sales, loans, leases and other development and corporate transactions, including:
- The $28,500,000 acquisition of a multi-tenant office building in Doral, Florida with a $19,600,000 acquisition loan, and the negotiation of complex ownership-interest option agreement with limited partners;
- $25,000,000 loan origination (and subsequent loan split) for the acquisition of warehouse property in Doral, Florida;
- The acquisition and financing of a large industrial site in Austell, Georgia;
- The ground lease of land in Miami, FL for development of an international hotel chain, including the negotiation of hotel flag documents.
- Represented a national Real Estate Investment Manager in closing a $60,000,000 senior loan and $2,000,000 mezzanine loan to acquire a 340-unit duplex development in Tampa, Florida.
