Greenberg Traurig’s Jeff Smith Co-Authors Three-Volume Treatise Titled “Legal Opinions in Business Transactions”

ATLANTA (May 28, 2014) –Jeffrey M. Smith, a shareholder in the Atlanta office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, has co-authored with Arthur Norman Field a three-volume treatise titled “Legal Opinions in Business Transactions.” The newly published treatise is the  Third Edition.

“Legal Opinions in Business Transactions” provides the principles, information, tools and resource materials for readers to prepare third-party opinion letters more accurately and efficiently. Featuring thorough analysis and sample opinion language, the treatise also includes a new chapter that provides less experienced attorneys with an overview of the principles and procedures involved in preparing opinion letters

A member of Greenberg Traurig’s Corporate & Securities practice, Smith’s practice includes representing publically-traded companies headquartered in China and high-profile entertainers and entertainment companies, including casinos, themed restaurants, hotels, computer game companies, record companies, and publishing companies in various securities, trademark-licensing and other financial transactions. He has received numerous recognitions for his work, including being listed in Who's Who in American Law, The Best Lawyers in America   and Georgia Super Lawyers.

Smith has also co-authored, with Ronald Mallen, a five-volume treatise, titled “Legal Malpractice.” It focuses on prevention, insurance, and malpractice issues encountered by lawyers in most areas of the law.
