WARSAW – 20 August 2026 – Greenberg Traurig advised EPP in connection with the EUR 106 million refinancing of four M1 shopping centres located in Bytom, Częstochowa, Poznań and Radom.
The financing was provided in equal parts by Absa Corporate and Investment Banking and Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking. Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking also acted as facility agent and security agent. The transaction marks Absa's first financing of EPP assets in Poland.
The four M1 centres operate on different regional markets, with an established loyal customer base and offer an extensive retail mix with a strong grocery component. The properties have recently undergone changes to their tenant mix and offer, aimed at improving the use of existing space and strengthening their position on local markets.
The Greenberg Traurig team was led by Counsel Jakub Walawski, who was supported by Associate Martyna Adamowicz and Junior Associate Katarzyna Smagacz. Partner Piotr Nerwiński supervised the transaction.
EPP is the largest asset manager of retail real estate located in Poland in terms of GLA. The company's portfolio consists of 33 projects (27 retail properties and 6 office complexes) with a total value of approx. EUR 2.9 billion and leasable area of over 1 million sqm. EPP is owned by Redefine Properties, the second largest Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
