Joseph helps companies protect their intellectual property by drafting patent applications, identifying patentable subject matter, and representing clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). His prior experience as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO ensures clients receive fair and thorough examinations. While at the Office, he examined technologies in metal bending, presses, comminution, and their associated electrical and chemical systems.
Before joining the USPTO, Joseph worked in industrial and manufacturing environments, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies including semiconductors, control systems, robotics, wood manufacturing, and nuclear power systems.
Joseph also has experience with AI-enabled systems such as machine learning, vision models, and large language models for tasks such as pattern recognition, anomaly detection, and predictive automation. He is skilled in translating complex AI architectures into patent-ready specifications, including claim structures that reflect real-world deployment across edge devices, embedded systems, and cloud platforms. He works with engineering and product teams to identify and articulate patentable AI innovations throughout the development lifecycle.
