Arkadiusz Kocel focuses his practice on tax law, with particular emphasis on income taxes, tax planning, international tax law and the tax aspects of transactions. He advises businesses on day-to-day tax matters related to their operations, helping them identify and effectively manage tax risks, as well as implement complex business projects.
He also has experience advising private clients, including high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), primarily on tax planning and wealth management matters. He also represents clients in tax proceedings.
Drawing on his legal and economic background, he analyses tax matters from both a regulatory and a business perspective. His interdisciplinary approach enables him to pursue solutions that take into account clients’ business objectives and the economic consequences of their decisions.
Alongside his professional practice, he pursues academic work as a doctoral researcher. His research interests focus on tax law, and he presents the results of his research at national and international academic conferences.

- Participated in complex restructuring projects involving enterprises and international capital groups, including entities from Europe and the United States.˚
- Participated in the preparation of applications for individual tax rulings, opinions on the application of withholding tax preferences and protective opinions, obtaining favorable decisions for clients.˚
- Advised clients on the establishment of family foundations and the planning and structuring of the rules for contributing assets to them.˚
- Participated in tax due diligence reviews, including the identification and assessment of tax risks and the analysis of their impact on the structure and terms of transactions.˚
- Advised on transactions involving the acquisition and sale of commercial real estate, in particular with respect to their VAT, CIT and tax on civil law transactions consequences.˚
- Advised on the cross-border secondment of employees, including the analysis of related issues under Polish and international tax law, social security law and employment law.˚
- Participated in the preparation and review of tax provisions in transaction documentation, including clauses concerning tax settlements, the parties’ liability, and representations and warranties.˚
- Advised on the tax aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, carried out both as share deals and asset deals.˚
- Advised on international tax law, including the taxation of cross-border payments, withholding tax and the application of double taxation agreements.˚
