Molly Carr

Molly Carr focuses her practice on trademark prosecution, counseling, enforcement, and litigation. She manages domestic and multinational trademark portfolios for large brand owners, guiding them through clearance, prosecution before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign registries, office action responses, and use and maintenance filings. She also provides clearance opinions, counsels clients on brand expansion, and drafts and negotiates trademark coexistence agreements covering the United States and international markets. Molly also helps clients develop and execute enforcement strategies, including online enforcement.

Before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), Molly prepares and litigates opposition and cancellation proceedings, including an ex parte appeal challenging a refusal to register under Section 2(e)(1) on the ground of mere descriptiveness. Molly maintains an active federal litigation and online-enforcement practice, with particular depth in domain name and internet infringement matters. She has handled numerous domain name disputes under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP), investigating infringing websites and recommending enforcement strategy, and she counsels clients on cybersquatting, UDRP options, and other online infringement issues. She has litigated actions under the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA), and she handles social media takedowns and related online brand-abuse matters.
