Rose Schlichtmann-Prince

Rose Prince focuses her practice on network infrastructure investments. She brings a business-oriented perspective to legal matters, informed by her experience in communications network transactions. Investors and business leaders seek her counsel on the legal aspects of commercial transactions because of her deep understanding of communications networks and technical proficiency as well as her pragmatic application of the law to business opportunities that drive profitability. While thorough in her counseling, she finds strategies that help her clients pursue their goals while managing risk. In addition to her legal training and experience as counsel to product developers and network solution architects, prior to her legal career, she was part of the Sprint enterprise group that launched the Palm Treo, an early enterprise-focused smartphone, for operation on the Sprint network.

She has nearly two decades of experience advising corporate clients on all matters related to network infrastructure development, operation, and monetization. More particularly, this has included drafting and negotiating multibillion-dollar initiatives involving subsea and terrestrial fiber, data center connectivity, colocation, and cross-border infrastructure deployments both for single ownership systems and shared competitive arrangements. These matters often involve adversarial partners, competitive negotiations, and risk assessments involving vague regulations. Over the years, she has developed industry-leading strategies to mitigate risk of financial loss in the purchase of prepaid rights of use in dark fiber and related network components. Many of her novel strategies have since become industry standard across hyper-scaler and carrier transactions. To further support worldwide client investments, Rose works with lawyers across the firm and, when appropriate, engages her deep bench of foreign counsels to provide country-specific support when needed. Further, she is adept at advising a broad range of organizations, from closely held businesses and startups to regulated entities and Fortune 500 companies.

Her experience involves commercial and transactional regulatory support of industry development, corporate restructuring, sale, and purchase of colocation services in public data centers. As a result, she provides legal advice informed by a broad perspective on developing legal frameworks that support evolving business needs.
