Timothy F. Stanfield

Tim Stanfield is a Shareholder in the Florida Government Law & Policy Practice and focuses his practice on lobbying, government affairs, and regulatory matters. Tim represents private and public-sector clients before the Florida Legislature, the Florida Cabinet, and state agencies, with a focus on legislative and executive branch advocacy. He engages the Florida state government on behalf of insurance companies, brokers and trade associations, and other highly regulated industries. Tim also represents first responder organizations and local governments. With more than two decades of lobbying experience, Tim helps clients navigate technically complex public policy and regulatory issues before Florida’s legislative and executive branches.

Tim is also active in insurance regulatory and transactional matters, advising insurers, insurance-related entities, and other regulated businesses on transactional matters, new company formations, licensure, rate and form filings, market conduct issues, and ongoing regulatory compliance. He has been involved in insurance matters including the formation and capitalization of start-up insurance companies, surplus lines insurers, multi-jurisdictional regulatory approvals, Citizens takeout transactions, other policy assumption, and market expansion initiatives. Tim also assists other regulated entities in obtaining permits, licenses, certificates, and other approvals from state government agencies.

Tim served as the Chair of the Second Circuit Grievance Committee for the Florida Bar and is a member of the University of Florida F Club. He enjoys spending time with his family at University of Florida football games, traveling, and spending time at his wife's family farm.
