Increased Scrutiny Raises Int'l Real Estate Transaction Risks

Several recent purchases by international investors, mostly from China, of U.S. land near sensitive locations have created political firestorms, resulting in a renewed push to implement regulations that ensure governmental review of such purchases going forward and to enforce existing laws that require relevant government agencies be notified of such purchases.
