Elliott is a senior associate in Greenberg Traurig’s London office. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation, civil fraud and asset recovery and banking disputes and has particular experience in high-value, cross border disputes, often involving multiple parties and jurisdictions. Elliott is a solicitor-advocate with rights of audience in the Higher Courts of England and Wales.

He has a broad disputes practice with a particular focus on civil fraud and financial services disputes. Elliott has advised on proceedings across all levels of the English courts, including the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council. He also has experience advising clients before courts in a number of common law jurisdictions, such as the BVI, Bermuda and Singapore, as well as civil law jurisdictions including France and Italy. His work includes securing and opposing a wide range of interim relief, including worldwide freezing and charging orders and acting on enforcement matters. He acts for a diverse client base comprising corporates, private equity firms and other institutional investors (including pension funds) and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Elliott has also undertaken a secondment with a specialist funds practice, where he advised institutional litigation funders on funding arrangements and assisted limited partners in connection with private equity secondary market transactions.

  • Acting for Crane Bank (one of Uganda’s largest commercial banks until 2016) and its shareholders in relation to claims in unlawful means conspiracy and dishonest assisting arising from a corrupt scheme to take control of Crane Bank and misappropriate its assets. One of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2026.
  • Successfully represented an UHNWI and his family in relation to global proceedings against various entities within a Swiss banking group. Proceedings were commenced in Bermuda, Singapore and New Zealand (amongst other jurisdictions) seeking damages in excess of $1bn arising out of the fraudulent handling and investment of the client’s portfolio.°
  • Acted for the family of an UHNWI individual in proceedings to recover funds in excess of $400m placed under management of fiduciaries. Confidential arbitration proceedings were commenced and freezing and receivership orders obtained in support of the arbitration.°
  • Represented the joint receivers of a BVI company in relation to High Court proceedings to recover funds advanced pursuant to a litigation funding agreement including success elements.°
  • Represented a number of Cypriot trusts in challenging charging orders and world-wide freezing order made during the course of enforcement proceedings relating to a $300m judgment debt.°
  • Defended an international telecoms company in proceedings for alleged breaches of contract in excess of £20m, including defeating a summary judgment application and conducting a confidential expert determination process.°
  • Acted for an UHNWI in relation to cross-contribution proceedings under the Civil Liability (Contribution) Act 1978 arising out of the settlement of substantial High Court proceedings. °
  • Represented a Dubai-based oil trader in proceedings for breach of contract arising from oil which had been transhipped in breach of Iranian sanctions.°
  • Represented a Kazakh bank in enforcement proceedings arising from a significant fraud. °
  • Acted for a private equity firm in professional negligence claims against its former legal advisors relating to restructuring advice received. One of The Lawyer’s Top 20 cases of 2016.°
