Victoria Smiegocki combines legal training with a background in applied statistics, giving her the ability to work with empirical data alongside legal analysis. She has served as a judicial law clerk to a judge on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, where she also previously completed a judicial externship. Her experience centers on the criminal justice system, including indigent defense, prosecutorial decision making, sentencing data, and the operation of federal courts.

Victoria has served as the assistant director of research at a law school-based criminal justice reform center, designing and carrying out social science research, working with prosecutors and public defenders at the state and federal levels, and developing automated data collection protocols.
