Justin Theam’s intellectual property law practice concentrates on medical devices, AI, and electronics, fueled by his degrees in electrical engineering with his bachelor’s focusing on machine learning and control systems and his master’s focusing on medical devices. Justin prepares and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications, as well as having experience conducting prior art searches, preparing patentability, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate opinions. He collaborates with inventors, engineers, and in-house counsel to identify protectable innovations and translate complex technical disclosures into IP strategies. Alongside his experience in the medical device space prosecuting technologies including wound care, cardiovascular analysis, and consumer health products, his patent prosecution experience spans a range of industries, including companies developing directed energy and counter-drone technologies, as well as various AI-based data processing platforms serving defense and national security applications to real estate analytics or to even streamline food processing and manufacturing.
