WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dec. 2, 2022 – Paul F. McQuade, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Washington, D.C., Government Contracts and Intellectual Property (IP) & Technology practices, will present in the Practising Law Institute’s Understanding the Intellectual Property License 2022 program. The two-day hybrid event takes place Dec. 8-9 at PLI’s San Francisco Conference Center.

McQuade’s session, which will take place Dec. 9 at 2:30 p.m. PST, is titled “Regulatory and Government Issues in IP Licensing,” and will discuss issues related to research and development contracting, licensing IP to and from the U.S. Government, and related requirements and technology export controls.

McQuade is a patent attorney with substantial government contracts experience. His practice spans both typical commercial IP, with emphasis on licensing and IP-related transactions, and “government contracts IP” in the context of U.S. Government research and development and prime and subcontractor agreements. He offers strategic counselling on how best to maintain one’s IP position when doing business with the federal government and its contractors. McQuade also serves as a vice chair of the American Bar Association Public Contract Law Section’s IP Committee.
