CUPERTINO, Calif. – Aug. 13, 2024 – Greenberg Traurig, LLPTax Practice Shareholders Nikki E. Dobay and Shail P. Shah will speak at the Council on State Taxation (COST) 2024 State and Local Tax (SALT) Workshop for Technology Companies in Cupertino, California, Aug. 14 – 15.
The conference will cover important SALT updates that affect both established and startup technology companies. Leading tax professionals will offer guidance and technical knowledge in the tax world.
On Aug. 14, Dobay will speak on "Top 10 Income and Transactional Tax Cases Impacting the Tech Industry," a panel discussing significant transactional and corporate income tax cases affecting technology companies. The speakers will explore the implications of both pending and fully litigated cases.
On Aug. 15, Shah will speak on "Ask The Experts," a panel answering questions that have been submitted by attendees and discussing conversations they’ve had during the workshop that would be of interest to other attendees. The panel will also address trends they expect to see in 2024 in both the technology industry and the economy as a whole.
Dobay is nationally known for her deep experience and understanding of state tax policy and the legislative process. She also advises her clients on sophisticated multistate tax issues as well as the consequences and planning opportunities related to corporate mergers and acquisitions transactions and oversees state and local tax controversy matters, ranging from audits to appellate litigation, and involving sales and use taxes, income and franchise taxes, property taxes, and constitutional issues.
