Kate Barry focuses her legal practice on employment law counseling and business litigation for retail and hospitality clients. She counsels clients on a wide range of workplace matters, including employee onboarding, performance management, leave and accommodation, and wage and hour compliance. Kate regularly advises clients on the interplay between the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and performance management, helping employers navigate complex obligations under both Federal and State law. She focuses on leave and accommodation strategies that balance legal compliance with operational demands. Kate conducts employment investigations and represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state administrative agencies, including the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Kate represents clients in business-related disputes, wage and hour litigation, trade secret and restrictive covenant negotiations, and workplace accommodation issues.
