The opinion, published in case no. 87074, paves important groundwork for mitigating the financial consequences incurred by the general public when an insurer runs out of money.
  • Represented a gaming company in a patent infringement claim. Secured a defense verdict after a weeklong jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
  • Represented a company that develops social gaming applications simulating slot machines against a plaintiff seeking $13,000,000 under Kentucky’s Loss Recovery Act. Authored summary judgment motion and assisted in oral argument that resulted in a full defense verdict.
  • Represented a buyer in a multimillion-dollar breach of contract dispute over the sale of 55 gas stations. Obtained multimillion-dollar settlement on client’s breach of contract claims against the seller.
  • Represented hospital against a high-stakes medical malpractice claim. Authored primary argument of a Writ for Mandamus and Prohibition to the Nevada Supreme Court that resulted in a reversal and a reassignment of the district court judge, eventually leading to a settlement for the client.
  • Represented an individual from Bogota Colombia who was sued in Nevada. Authored brief and successfully argued a motion to dismiss for lack of personal jurisdiction on behalf of the client.
  • Represented a real estate company in a lawsuit against a competitor. Obtained a preliminary injunction against the business competitor to prevent it from intentionally interfering with the client’s contractual relationships.
  • Represented a large African Agri-Fintech company. Successfully opposed a preliminary injunction request to prevent the client from merging with another company.
  • Represented an app‑developer operating free‑to‑play, casino‑themed social gaming apps in a mass‑arbitration proceeding involving 5,262 simultaneous claimants that triggered over $10.5 million in filing fees; coordinated overall strategy in response to the arbitration demand and authored briefs opposing claimants’ motions for case‑terminating sanctions in two individual arbitrations, prevailing in both.
