  • Represented affiliates of Square Mile Capital Management in the formation of a joint venture with the FDIC to acquire a portfolio of 57 performing and non-performing hotel loans having an unpaid principal balance in excess of $600 million.
  • Represented the lessee in the restructuring the ground lease under the historic Surrey Hotel and the hotel’s redevelopment financing.
  • Representing a privately held hotel owner/operator in its restructuring and recapitalization, including the refinancing of a portfolio of six Manhattan hotels.
  • Represented Credit Suisse in a highly-structured $756 million loan made to finance the acquisition, renovation and condominium conversion of the Manhattan House on the Upper East Side of New York City. The transaction was part of an $840 million joint venture equity and condominium conversion financing package.
  • Representation of Island Global Yachting and its affiliates in the acquisition, development and financing of “mega yacht” marinas and resorts throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Representation of Hypo Real Estate Capital Corporation in connection with the workout and restructuring of an approximately $300 million construction loan for a new residential condominium building in Manhattan.
  • Representation of Buttonwood Development in the successful restructuring and workout of a $200 million condominium conversion loan related to the re-development of 333 Rector Street, New York.
  • Represented a private equity investment fund in the formation of a joint venture with the FDIC to acquire a portfolio of 1660 performing and non-performing hotel loans having an unpaid principal balance in excess of $2 million.
  • Representation of UBS, Bear Stearns and Credit Suisse in numerous mortgage and mezzanine loan financings of significant office, commercial, industrial and hotel properties throughout the United States.
  • Represented Stiles Development Co. in connection with the build-to-suit, sale leaseback financing of the FedEx Miami Gateway Facility at the Miami-Dade Airport. This transaction received a 2005 NAIOP Award of Excellence as the Project of the Year.
  • Represented syndicate of investment banks in the origination of a $450 million construction loan for the development of a hotel and convention center.
  • Represented lender in mezzanine financings in connection with the acquisition and development of residential condominiums and congregate care facilities.
  • Represented REIT in acquisition of portfolio of luxury hotels for $330 million in cash and stock.
  • Represented seller in the disposition of 27 commercial, mixed use and industrial properties for $340 million.
  • Represented Starwood Hotels in the leasing of retail space at the St. Regis Hotel on Park Avenue for use as the flagship retail locations for DeBeers and Boucheron.
