Gabriel Nwodo is an associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Practice in Greenberg Traurig’s London office. His practice focuses on International Arbitration concentrating on complex, big-ticket multi-jurisdictional cases across sectors including energy, transportation, technology, and financial services. He has acted in proceedings under major arbitral rules including ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, and SIAC and and regularly advises on cross-border enforcement and public international law issues.

  • Acting for a leading EPC contractor in a HKIAC arbitration arising from the termination of a multibillion-dollar EPC contract in Russia.
  • Acted for the manager of a prominent PE fund in significant litigation in the Cayman Islands arising from the reconstruction of capital account balances for limited partners, following the removal of the former manager.°
  • Acted for the world’s largest port operator in connection with an ICC arbitration against a Southeast European government regarding breaches of a port concession agreement.°
  • Acted for the world’s largest manufacturer of mainframe computers in a high-profile litigation against in the English High Court.°
  • Advised a famous U.S. portrait painter in relation to a potential defamation action.°
  • Acted for the sellers in a multibillion-dollar SIAC arbitration arising out of the buyers’ breach of a share purchase agreement.°
  • Acted for high-yield noteholders in Commercial Court proceedings in relation to the aftermath of a corporate restructuring.°
  • Acted for a biopharma company in the Patents Court in relation to a patent infringement and entitlement claim.°
  • Advised a group of AT1 bondholders of a major international bank in relation to the 2023 write-down of their investments.°
  • Advised on a potential London-seated arbitration arising from the 2021 acquisition of a major Nigerian bank by a consortium backed by the African Export-Import Bank.°
  • Advised a major petroleum development company on a significant litigation arising from the wrongful refusal of the Nigerian government to renew one of the company’s major oil mining leases.°
  • Acted as counsel for an international organisation in employment-related proceedings at the Administrative Tribunal of the African Development Bank in Abidjan.°
