Greenberg Traurig tops the Mergermarket M&A Table for Poland with USD 2.8 billion in 2018

WARSAW – Jan. 22, 2019 – The Warsaw office of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig was ranked as number one in the Mergermarket Global & Regional M&A Report 2018 with respect to the value of M&A transactions handled in Poland in 2018.

The total value of the transactions executed by Greenberg Traurig amounted to USD 2.807 billion.

Greenberg Traurig’s excellent year was highlighted by simultaneously handling three separate sophisticated banking M&A transactions in Poland. The Warsaw office advised: BNP Paribas Group on the acquisition of the core banking business of Raiffeisen Bank Polska; Deutsche Bank on the sale of its Polish core banking business to Santander; and Société Générale on the sale of Euro Bank to Bank Millennium.

Additionally, the Warsaw office completed several market leading projects and represented: Goldman Sachs in the acquisition of Robyg; Cyfrowy Polsat Group in the acquisition of shares in Netia; Emperia Holding in its sale to Maxima Grupe; and Smithfield Foods in the acquisition of Pini Polonia. Greenberg Traurig also represents CCC Group in the ongoing complex cross-border transaction which will start business and capital cooperation with HR Group in Germany.

Greenberg Traurig was previously ranked as number one in the Mergermarket Global & Regional M&A Report twice before – for transactions executed in 2017 and in 2013.
