Greenberg Traurig’s Jennifer Tomsen and Alicia Sienne Voltmer to Present at Texas General Counsel Forum’s Statewide CLE Program

HOUSTON – June 21, 2022 – Labor & Employment Practice Shareholders Jennifer Tomsen and Alicia Sienne Voltmer of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP will speak at the Texas General Counsel Forum’s (TGCF) statewide virtual continuing legal education (CLE) program, June 22 at 12 p.m.

Tomsen and Voltmer will present “Top Ten Mistakes in Drafting Restrictive Covenants in Texas and How to Avoid Them.” The program will provide an understanding of statutory requirements and the types of covenants to which the statutory requirements apply, as well as how Texas courts currently interpret them. Additionally, problem areas with the adequacy of consideration and the types, scope, and length of restrictions on competition and the solicitation of clients and other employees will be discussed.

Tomsen, who is based in the firm’s Houston office, focuses on litigation and arbitration, concentrating on labor and employment claims as well as commercial matters for financial institutions. She regularly practices before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, AAA, and JAMS as well as in state and federal courts.

Voltmer, who is based in the firm’s Dallas office, advises clients on day-to-day employment matters, including reductions in force, disciplinary actions, accommodations, hiring, and firing. She also handles client mediations, arbitrations, administrative hearings, and court proceedings involving state and federal employment laws.

The TGCF forum has more than 650 general and senior managing counsel members representing over 450 companies throughout the state, according to the TGCF website. This CLE program is hosted for TGCF in-house members and prospective in-house members. TGCF has been serving in-house leadership in Texas since 1998.
