University of South Florida Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Computer - Institute for Artificial Intelligence + X Symposium

The AI+X Symposium underscores the University of South Florida’s position as a leader in interdisciplinary AI research and innovation. By convening experts across domains, the symposium advances rigorous scholarship, responsible deployment and transformative collaboration at the forefront of artificial intelligence.  Greenberg Traurig's Andrea Nieto, Of Counsel, Labor & Employment will be speaking on the "AI & The Industry" panel alongside speakers from Jabil and Raymond James. The hour-long panel will engage a diverse audience that includes mid-career professionals, executives, faculty, and students. The discussion is expected to cover a range of timely and relevant topics, including

  • AI governance frameworks and best practices
  • The impact of AI on the workforce and what employers need to understand and prepare for from a labor and employment perspective, including how AI-driven changes are reshaping hiring practices, employee management, workplace policies, and the evolving legal obligations that employers face as artificial intelligence becomes more deeply integrated into day-to-day business operations
  • The growing impact of artificial intelligence on Mergers and Acquisitions Transactions
  • AI regulatory compliance considerations in both the United States and Europe, including an overview of the current regulatory landscape, what frameworks and obligations are already in place, and what organizations should anticipate as new legislation and guidance continues to emerge. This will include a discussion of the European Union's AI Act and its phased implementation timeline, the evolving patchwork of state-level AI regulations across the United States, and the degree to which federal regulatory activity - or the absence thereof - is shaping how businesses are approaching compliance planning and risk management on both sides of the Atlantic.

We invite you to join us for a day of scholarly exchange and strategic dialogue as we shape the next era of AI research and impact.
