Profile
Zachary M. Schlichter focuses his practice on middle-market and lower middle-market mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on private equity transactions. He represents private equity sponsors, family offices and their portfolio companies in platform acquisitions, add-on acquisitions and exits, and represents founder- and family-owned businesses in sales to private equity buyers. Zach routinely works on both the buy side and the sell side, and his practice is roughly evenly divided between the two.
Since 2019, Zach has helped clients with more than 150 transactions in the home services industry, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, lighting and pool services businesses. He has served as long-term deal counsel to several private equity-backed home services platforms, handling dozens of add-on acquisitions for individual platforms. His industry experience also includes industrial and manufacturing companies, such as metal foundries, die casters, fabricators and OEM parts suppliers, and software-as-a-service (SaaS) businesses, where he regularly represents sellers.
Zach takes a practical, business-minded approach to each transaction, staffing deals efficiently and moving at the pace the deal requires. He holds a B.S. in biomedical engineering, a technical background he draws on when advising industrial and technology clients.
