George David Zalepa focuses his practice on intellectual property and technology matters. His experience includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications in fields ranging from computer science to electrical engineering. George has wide-ranging experience in the technology industries including web applications, networking and wireless technologies, cellular and satellite communications, telephony, image processing, and mobile devices and software.

George regularly advises clients on a variety of matters involving technology transactions, including software licensing and IP due diligence in connection with mergers and acquisitions. He has a wide range of experience in the areas of traditional software licensing, VAR agreements, white label agreements, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS agreements, privacy policies, terms of services, strategic alliances, and many other commercial relationships. In addition to prosecution experience, George is an experienced litigator focusing primarily on patent litigation and commercial litigation. He has represented numerous clients in federal district courts throughout the nation both representing patent owners and defendants. In addition to his legal experience, George is an experienced software developer, specifically with web applications. He utilizes that expertise to build and deploy software solutions to augment the firm’s legal expertise and increase the efficiency and productivity of his practice.

After earning his degree in computer engineering from Boston University, where he focused on ASIC and FPGA design, George was a Patent Examiner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. While at the patent office, he worked in the Processor Architecture and Instruction Processing Art Unit prosecuting technologies including, branch prediction, VLIW and SIMD systems, FPGA architectures and multi-threaded processing.
