Greenberg Traurig advised Tecnoquímicas on the acquisition of the MK generics business from Bayer in Central America and the Caribbean

Berlin, July 3, 2018 – Greenberg Traurig advised Tecnoquímicas on the acquisition of Bayer AG's generics business distributed under the "MK" brand in Central America and the Caribbean. The transaction included the pharmaceutical plant Boníma located in El Salvador.

Tecnoquímicas is one of Colombia's largest pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution corporations. The acquisition was carried out by way of a combined share deal and asset deal involving a variety of jurisdictions and a number of manufacturing, supply and distribution agreements. The transaction was signed in January 2018 and has now been completed at the end of June following merger clearance.

Greenberg Traurig advised Tecnoquímicas on all legal matters regarding the acquisition. The law office of Arias Law in San Salvador worked on the El Salvadorian aspects of the transaction.
