Chicago Shareholder Julia Emfinger will serve as a moderator for the ABA Litigation Section Roundtable: Diversity in the Dirt.
There are a myriad of fields related to the real estate and construction worlds, from development and planning, to management of the on-the-ground construction work, to providing legal support, all aimed at improving upon the dirt on which a project sits. Despite the wide variety of skills and specializations required for these fields, a common thread that frequently binds them is a stark lack of diversity. This program will include a panel of diverse practitioners from the real estate development, construction, and architecture worlds who will discuss their own experiences, as well as the barriers to diverse people entering, and advancing in, these fields, how the landscape changed, and what the focus should be on in the future.
