From Risk to Readiness: Preparing for DOJ Enforcement of the Data Security Program

Greenberg Traurig is hosting the webinar "From Risk to Readiness: Preparing for DOJ Enforcement of the Data Security Program" on Wednesday, October 15, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm ET. GT shareholders Liz Harding and Chelsea Pullen will be presenting, as well as GT associates Cassidy Kim, Olivia Bellini, and Eleanor Ross.

This program provides a comprehensive overview of the U.S. Department of Justice’s newly implemented Data Security Program (DSP), effective April 8, 2025, under 28 C.F.R. Part 202. Designed to prevent foreign adversaries from accessing sensitive U.S. personal and government-related data, the DSP imposes sweeping restrictions on data transactions involving designated countries of concern and covered persons.

Attendees will gain insights on compliance obligations, including due diligence, reporting, and audit requirements, and offer practical guidance for identifying covered data transactions, understanding prohibited and restricted activities, and preparing for full enforcement beginning July 8, 2025. Attendees will also gain actionable insights into risk mitigation, penalties for non-compliance, and strategic next steps for organizations handling sensitive data.
