Profile
Bobby Li is an intellectual property litigator who represents clients in patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret disputes across a range of industries and technologies. His work spans telecommunications, banking, cybersecurity, music, video games, and fashion design, and he handles matters involving technical subject areas such as object and text recognition software, mobile payment processing, automobile engine control systems, video game networking infrastructure, and peer-to-peer file sharing protocols. Clients turn to Bobby for his ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear arguments in high-stakes litigation.
Bobby has handled matters in federal district courts, state courts, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His courtroom and litigation experience includes jury trials, direct and cross examination of expert witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and drafting and arguing substantive motions. This hands-on trial and hearing experience allows him to approach disputes with an understanding of how cases are ultimately tried and decided.
Before entering private practice, Bobby served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Kim McLane Wardlaw of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, giving him insight into how courts evaluate the issues at the center of his practice.
