Lindsay Hutner to Chair and Philip Person to Speak at Practising Law Institute Conference

SAN FRANCISCO – Sept. 2, 2022 – San Francisco shareholders, Lindsay Hutner, co-chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice’s Employment Litigation & Trials Group, and Philip Person will speak at a program titled, “Cutting-Edge Employment Law Issues 2022: The California Difference,” hosted by the Practising Law Institute (PLI) Sept. 13.

Hutner is co-chair of the conference and will start the day with opening remarks and a panel titled “Year in Review/Hot Topics,” providing an overview of important U.S. Supreme Court and appellate case law developments, new statutory and regulatory challenges, current trends for employment practitioners, and other key issues for 2023.

Person will present a session titled “Key Wage & Hour and Class Actions Updates in 2021,” which will examine critical new court cases on class and collective actions and California Private Attorney General (PAGA) Act litigation. Additional topics include the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, other post-COVID wage and hour issues, and new statutes and regulations related to wage and hour and class action claims.

Hutner, a shareholder in the San Francisco office, is a focused, practical, and dedicated litigator, whose clients trust her to not only vehemently defend their interests, but offer pragmatic, no-nonsense advice, all with an eye toward their business needs. Hutner works closely with clients in defending both class actions and single-plaintiff cases involving employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, PAGA, unfair competition, enforcement of non-competes and other restrictive covenants, misappropriation of trade secrets, wrongful termination, and breach of contract.

Person focuses his practice on representing employers in wage and hour, wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, trade secret misappropriation, non-competition, non-solicitation, and whistleblower claims. He is an experienced litigator, having defended employers against single-plaintiff and class action litigation in both federal and state courts. Person also represents employers in labor and employment arbitrations.
