BOSTON – Oct. 27, 2022 – Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Shareholder Andrew (A.J.) Tibbetts and Of Counsel Andrew Tsui will present at the MassBio 2022 Digital Health Impact Conference Nov. 3.
Tibbetts will moderate the panel “Could Digital Health = Better Outcomes for Underserved Populations?” The panel will discuss the promise of digital health for improving health care for disadvantaged communities, making health care more inclusive and patient-centric, as well as methods for improvements and the challenges/risks facing digital health and underserved populations.
Tsui’s panel, “Workable Revenue Models for Digital Health Companies; a Case Study,” will discuss business models for digital health companies from an internal and investor perspective. The discussion will focus on how companies ascertain, optimize, and defend their revenue models from the government agency that largely determines medical coding, coverage, and payment methodologies affecting the future of digital and other cutting-edge medical technologies.
Tibbetts, an Intellectual Property & Technology shareholder in the firm’s Boston office, leverages prior experience as a software engineer to provide practical intellectual property strategy counseling on matters related to software-implemented tech across a range of industries, from networking, fintech, and natural language processing through to life sciences, artificial intelligence, medical records, and medical devices. He advises a wide array of clients on intellectual property strategies, ranging from international and publicly traded companies and large research institutions to small and growing companies. He serves on the board of directors of MassMEDIC, helping support digital health efforts in the New England area.
Tsui, of counsel in the firm’s Health Care & FDA Practice in the Washington, D.C. office, spent over a decade as litigation counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Division and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Department of Justice. His experience defending federal health care programs and regulations in courts nationwide ranged from tri-departmental challenges under the Administrative Procedure Act to highly technical Medicare payment and enforcement determinations by CMS and its contractors. He focuses on assisting clients in the health care, medical technology, and life sciences industries as they anticipate and reach Medicare coding, coverage, and reimbursement milestones that are critical to successful operations. Tsui also maintains a practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal courts.
